Prolapse Repair
Uterine and vaginal prolapse is due to weak supports of the vaginal walls and a feeling that a lump is coming down in the vagina. There may be no other symptoms although urinary problems may also occur. A prolapse is, in many ways, similar to a hernia and is best treated surgically although specialist physiotherapy may also be very helpful.

Surgery involves admission for three or four days and is usually performed under
a spinal anaesthetic with light sedation. You will not be able to drive for two weeks following treatment (or longer depending on stipulations from your car insurer) A return to work is normally possible within a few weeks.

Mr Thonet can discuss the exact nature of your treatment, including procedure
details, recovery times and any possible side-effects at a consultation. This will reflect your exact circumstances and needs. The information included here is provided for general guidance only.
